Description
American Traveler is hiring a travel Ultrasound Technologist / Sonographer for a split-site assignment spanning two major academic medical centers in Boston, MA, with experience in general, vascular, and head & neck ultrasound.
Details
- Split assignment between two hospital locations: one focused on head & neck exams and ultrasound-guided procedures, and the other focused on routine general ultrasound, transplant, and vascular studies
- Head & neck site procedures include detailed protocol-driven scanning, US-guided biopsies, and potential OR guidance
- General ultrasound site procedures include routine exams, transplanted liver, transplanted kidney, and DVT studies (upper & lower extremity)
- Equipment includes Philips Epiq Elite and GE Logiq 10s
- Works closely with radiologists on site
- Schedule spans 4x10-hour shifts: Sunday 8:00 AM–6:30 PM, Monday 7:00 AM–5:30 PM, Thursday 7:00 AM–5:30 PM, and Saturday 8:00 AM–6:30 PM
- Charting via Epic
- 13-week contract
Requirements
- Current BLS certification required (AHA only; Red Cross not accepted for this assignment)
- Active MA license required; conditional or pending licenses are not accepted — license required if applicable
- 2 references required for consideration
- Pediatric ultrasound experience is a plus
- Flu vaccine required; no religious or medical exemptions are accepted
Additional Information
- Perform head & neck ultrasound exams per detailed protocols, with potential involvement in ultrasound-guided biopsies and OR guidance
- Perform routine general ultrasound, transplant organ studies, and upper/lower extremity DVT exams at the general hospital site
- Any requested time off (RTO) must be disclosed at the time of consideration
- Parking is not validated at Boston locations; public transportation is encouraged, and public parking is available at candidate's expense
- Local candidates residing within 60 miles of the Boston facility are eligible but will receive a reduced pay rate
- Timekeeping is managed through UKG/Kronos
