Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Med/Surg Night Shift position in New Mexico, requiring a minimum of 2 years of specialty experience and at least one prior travel assignment.

Details

• Surgical/Med-Surg inpatient hospital unit
• 12-hour night shifts, 7:00 PM – 7:30 AM
• 3 days per week, 36 hours per week
• Weekend and on-call/call-back shifts required as needed
• Epic EMR used on-site; experience preferred but training available
• Floating between departments and/or local locations within 20 miles is required

Requirements

• Active RN license in New Mexico or through a Compact State
• BLS certification through the American Heart Association, American Health and Safety, or American Red Cross required
• Minimum of 2 years of current Med/Surg RN experience required
• At least one prior 13-week travel nursing assignment required
• Associate's Degree in Nursing (ADN or ASN) required
• English proficiency (speaking, reading, and writing) required
• Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible

Additional Information

• Utilizes the nursing process to assess, plan, implement, evaluate, and document individualized patient care
• Coordinates care in collaboration with patients, families, and the broader healthcare team
• Administers medications and treatments per physician orders or standard protocols
• Provides clinical supervision of LPNs and non-licensed assistive personnel
• Identifies and addresses patient and family education and discharge planning needs throughout the episode of care
• Must be a team player, flexible, and comfortable in a fast-paced environment
• Former permanent staff of this health system must wait one year before being considered as a traveler
