Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Continuing Care position at a Skilled Nursing Facility in Albemarle, NC, requiring a minimum of 18 months of SNF/LTC experience and a willingness to float across multiple regional facilities.

Details

• Skilled Nursing Facility (SNF) setting with 90 beds
• Patient population includes short-term and long-term care for individuals recovering from illness, injury, or accident — common diagnoses include stroke, amputation, neurological disorders, and post-joint replacement
• No memory care patients
• Day shift RN-to-patient ratio is 1:18–20; night shift ratio is 1:26
• 12-hour day shifts, 6:45 AM – 7:15 PM, 36 hours per week
• Weekend rotation varies, every other or every third weekend depending on need
• No on-call or call-back requirements
• EMR: Epic (experience required)
• IV pump: Alaris; medication dispensing: Omnicell
• Floating required within the Continuing Care department and across the Rehab Region, which includes Cleveland Pines, Huntersville Oaks, Jesse Helms, Sardis Oaks, and Stanly Manor — candidates unwilling to float to all regional facilities should not apply

Requirements

• Active NC or compact RN license required
• Current BLS certification required
• Minimum 18 months of experience in a SNF/LTC or rehab facility, with most recent experience within the last year
• Proficiency in trach management, foley care, wound care and dressing changes, IV starts and management, and tube feedings
• Last 4 digits of SSN and full date of birth required for consideration
• One professional reference dated within the past year required, must be from a Supervisor, Manager, Director, or Charge RN
• Candidates must reside at least 50 miles from the facility — local candidates are not accepted
• Must have been separated from any Advocate Health Southeast (AHSE) facility for at least 1 year following permanent employment before being eligible

Additional Information

• Admissions are handled by the Admin Nurse; travelers can expect approximately 1–2 admissions per day
• Departmental support includes Nursing Leadership, HCT, Therapies, and Case Management
• Orientation consists of 2 days of departmental training; trach management refresher provided during orientation
• Travelers are expected to work 75% of assigned holidays
• Scrubs color for LPN is Ceil Blue (note: this is an RN role — dress code should be confirmed upon placement)
