Description

American Traveler is hiring an Ultrasound Technologist / Sonographer for a night shift, 7-on/7-off travel assignment requiring at least 1 year of ultrasound experience and ARRT or ARDMS certification.

Details

• Outpatient imaging center ultrasound department
• Performs ultrasound examinations on patients across all age groups, including neonates, pediatrics, adolescents, adults, and geriatrics
• 7-on/7-off schedule; shift begins Wednesday at 9:00 PM and ends the following Wednesday at 7:00 AM
• 10-hour night/graveyard shifts, 4 days per week, totaling 40 hours per week
• Weekend coverage is required
• Charting is performed in Epic

Requirements

• Minimum of 1 year of ultrasound experience required
• X-ray experience is preferred in addition to ultrasound
• ARRT (RT) or ARDMS certification required; ARDMS must include successful completion of one registry pertinent to the department beyond physics (options include OB, abdominal, neuro, breast, and vascular)
• Active BLS certification from the American Heart Association (AHA) required; must not expire prior to assignment start
• Active license required if applicable
• DOB and last 4 digits of SSN required for consideration
• 2 professional references required for consideration

Additional Information

• Performs ultrasound examinations under physician direction for identification of abnormalities leading to patient diagnosis
• Ensures proper patient identification, verifies orders, and prepares patients for exams using appropriate imaging techniques in accordance with ACR guidelines
• Demonstrates proficiency on all clinical equipment within the department and follows proper protocols for medical necessity, coding, charging, consents, documentation, and quality control
• Physical demands include carrying, lifting, pushing/pulling, standing, sitting, and manual dexterity
• Former permanent staff at any facility in this health system must be separated for at least one year before being eligible for a travel assignment
