Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a night shift Telemetry position in Bowling Green, KY, requiring telemetry experience and current BLS, ACLS, and NIH certifications.

Details

• Work in a 36-bed Telemetry unit at a hospital in Bowling Green, KY
• Patient ratios are typically 4:1 with cath recovery, with a standard maximum of 6:1 (may occasionally reach 7:1)
• PCTs available on both day and night shifts; Unit Clerks available on day shift only
• Equipment used includes remote telemetry monitors and Alaris pumps
• Charting is performed in Meditech
• Night shift schedule: 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM
• Every other weekend rotation required
• Travelers float first and may be assigned to Ortho/Med-Surg as needed
• 13-week contract

Requirements

• Active KY or compact RN license required
• Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, and NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) — must not expire within the first 30 days of the assignment start
• Minimum 2 years of recent telemetry nursing experience required
• Knowledge of chest tubes and dysrhythmia management required
• US Social Security Number (SSN) and date of birth (DOB) required for consideration — no Canadian SSNs accepted
• One professional reference required
• No employment gaps of 90 days or more within the past 12 months

Additional Information

• Procedures performed on the unit include chest tube insertions, bedside paracentesis, and thoracentesis
• The unit follows a Telemetry Monitoring Policy and a Stroke Policy
• Any scrubs are acceptable except camouflage print
• The unit recognizes staff through Daisy and Bee award certificates, as well as a monthly staff-voted STAR award
• Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility — local candidates are not eligible
• AHA or ARC certifications are accepted
