Description

American Traveler is hiring a travel RN for a Med/Surg Telemetry position at a Level II Trauma Center in Reno, NV, requiring 2+ years of Med/Surg Tele experience and an active NV RN license.

Details

• Work in the Sierra Med/Tele unit (Sierra 1) of a large regional medical center
• Level II Trauma Center serving over 80,000 ER and trauma patients annually
• Patient population includes adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients
• 3x12-hour day shifts per week
• Schedule may include weekends, holidays, and some call shifts
• Floating to other units may be required up to competency level
• No on-call requirements
• Uses Epic for charting
• 13-week contract

Requirements

• Active NV RN license required prior to start date
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications (AHA-issued only)
• Minimum 2 years of Med/Surg Telemetry nursing experience required
• Must pass a telemetry competency exam covering identification and measurement of telemetry rhythm strips
• Epic EMR experience preferred; testing out during orientation is an option

Additional Information

• Provides comprehensive nursing care including assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation for adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients and their families
• Coordinates care across multidisciplinary teams as needed
• One additional shift pickup will be required during the scheduling period
• Minimum of 2 major holidays required
• Blocked scheduling is not permitted
• Travelers who have previously worked at this facility must have a 13-week break after their last contract before returning
• RTO must be disclosed at time of consideration; the facility does not extend contracts to compensate for approved time off
• Candidates must reside more than 60 miles from the facility; local candidates are not accepted
• Time is tracked via Kronos
