Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Med/Surg Telemetry night shift position at a Level II Trauma Center in Reno, NV, requiring a valid NV RN license and at least 2 years of Med/Surg Tele experience.

Details

• Sierra Med-Tele unit (Sierra 1) within a large regional medical center and the region's only Level II Trauma Center
• Serves adolescent, adult, and geriatric patient populations
• 3x12-hour night shifts per week
• Schedule may include weekends, holidays, and some call shifts
• Floating to other units or departments required up to the traveler's competency level
• No on-call requirements
• Uses Epic for charting; training provided during orientation or candidates may test out
• Timekeeping via Kronos
• 13-week contract

Requirements

• Active NV RN license required prior to start (RNs who have never held a NV temp or permanent license may be considered and must apply immediately upon offer)
• Current AHA BLS and ACLS certifications required
• Must pass a telemetry competency exam, including identifying and measuring telemetry rhythm strips
• Minimum 2 years of Med/Surg Telemetry RN experience required

Additional Information

• Provides comprehensive nursing care including assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of patients and their families/caregivers
• Coordinates care across multidisciplinary teams as needed
• Candidates must reside more than 60 miles from the facility to be eligible; local candidates are not accepted
• Travelers who have previously worked at this facility must complete a 13-week break after their contract ends before returning
• At least 2 major holidays are required during the assignment
• Blocked scheduling is not permitted
• Any requested time off (RTO) must be disclosed prior to consideration; the facility does not extend contracts to compensate for RTO
• This facility is home to the region's only children's hospital and features a robotic surgery institute, comprehensive neurosciences institute, and advanced cardiac and cancer services
