Description

American Traveler is hiring a travel RN for a Med/Surg Telemetry (Days) position requiring a minimum of 2 years of telemetry experience and an active NV RN license prior to start.

Details

• Work setting is a hospital-based Medical and Telemetry unit
• Patient population includes CHF, alcohol withdrawal, NSTEMIs, sepsis, dysrhythmias, pneumonia, COPD, COVID, and post-procedure patients (pacemakers, ablations, cath lab, and OHS patients downgraded from ICU)
• Non-titratable cardiac medication drips administered on unit (Cardizem, Lasix, Nitro, etc.)
• Charting is done in Epic; training provided during orientation or candidates may test out
• Schedule is 3x12-hour day shifts per week
• No on-call requirements
• Floating may be required to ICUs (for telemetry/medically appropriate assignments), med/surg units, and a sister facility
• Schedule may include weekends, holidays, and some call shifts
• 13-week contract

Requirements

• Active NV RN license required prior to start; RNs who have never held a NV temp or permanent license may be considered and must apply immediately upon offer
• Current AHA certifications required: BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS
• Minimum 2 years of telemetry nursing experience required
• Candidates must pass a telemetry competency exam, including identifying and measuring rhythm strips — failure will result in contract termination
• Candidates must reside more than 60 miles from the facility to be eligible

• Provide comprehensive nursing care to adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients using the full nursing process: assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation
• Collaborative, multidisciplinary, patient-centered work environment with a strong focus on clinical excellence and customer service
• Fast-paced, high-volume environment comparable to a Level I trauma center; facility is a Level II Trauma Center with Stroke accreditation
• Coverage for a minimum of 2 major holidays is required
• Travelers who have previously worked at this facility must observe a 13-week break following the end of their last contract before returning
• Blocked scheduling is not permitted
• Any requested time off (RTO) must be submitted prior to consideration — the facility does not extend contracts to compensate for approved RTO
• KRONOS is used for time keeping
