Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Med/Surg Orthopedics position at a Level III Trauma Center in Gallatin, TN, requiring at least 1 year of experience and active TN or compact RN licensure.

Details

• Work is performed on a 23-bed Medical Surgical Combination unit (Floor A6) specializing in ortho, post-operative, and med/surg care
• Patient population includes geriatric, adult, and pediatric patients (ages 13 and older)
• Common diagnoses and treatments include post-operative joint care, post-op bariatric, post-operative GI, and trauma patients
• Patient ratios range from 4:1 to 6:1
• EMR system is Meditech; experience preferred
• Day shift: 7:00 AM – 7:00 PM
• Every third weekend required
• No on-call requirements
• Floating to other units required as needed
• 13-week contract

Requirements

• Active RN license — TN or compact license required
• Minimum 1 year of RN experience required
• Required certifications (AHA): BLS, ACLS, PALS, and NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS)
• ASN or higher required
• Med/surg or orthopedic nursing experience strongly preferred
• Strong assessment skills, teamwork, and customer service orientation
• Cannot be employed elsewhere full time
• Social Security number and date of birth required for consideration
• Candidates must reside 60+ miles from the facility to qualify for travel rates

Additional Information

• Provides post-operative and med/surg nursing care to orthopedic, bariatric, GI, and trauma patients
• All clinical staff working in Tennessee must be checked against the Tennessee Abuse Registry prior to assignment start
• Candidates who have worked as permanent staff at any LifePoint facility within the last 12 months are not eligible
• Orientation is held weekly on Mondays
• Scrubs of any color are acceptable; t-shirts must display the hospital logo; acrylic nails are not permitted
• The facility is a 167-bed Level III Trauma Center fully accredited by The Joint Commission
