Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Med/Surg Orthopedics position at a Level III Trauma Center in Gallatin, TN, requiring ACLS, BLS, PALS, and NIH certifications.

• Works on a 23-bed Medical Surgical Combination unit (Floor A6) specializing in ortho, post-operative, and med/surg care
• Patient population includes geriatric, adult, and pediatric patients (ages 13 and older)
• Common diagnoses and treatments include post-operative joint care, post-op bariatric, post-operative GI, and trauma patients
• Patient ratio is 4–6:1
• EMR system is Meditech
• Day shift: 7:00 AM – 7:00 PM
• 36-hour work week
• Weekend requirement: every third weekend
• Floating is required as needed
• No on-call requirements
• 13-week contract

Requirements

• Active RN license valid in Tennessee (TN state or compact) required
• Minimum 1 year of RN experience required
• ASN degree required at minimum
• Required certifications (AHA): ACLS, BLS, PALS, and NIH Stroke Scale — all must be in hand prior to start
• Social Security number and date of birth required for consideration
• Experience in orthopedics, post-operative care, or med/surg strongly applicable
• Strong assessment skills, teamwork, and customer service orientation required
• Must be willing to float to other units as needed

Additional Information

• Candidates must reside 60 or more miles from the facility to qualify for travel pay rates
• Candidates who have worked as permanent staff at any LifePoint facility within the last 12 months are not eligible
• Candidates cannot be employed full-time elsewhere during the assignment
• All clinical staff working in Tennessee must be cleared through the Tennessee Abuse Registry prior to the assignment start date
• Orientation is held weekly on Mondays
• Any color scrubs are acceptable; t-shirts must display the hospital logo and acrylic nails are not permitted
• The facility is a Level III Trauma Center
