Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced PACU RN for a 13-week travel assignment in New Mexico, requiring at least 2 years of PACU experience and prior travel nursing experience.

Details

• Recovery Room (PACU) setting within a hospital environment
• Full-time schedule of 4x10-hour day shifts per week (40 hours/week)
• Rotating weeknight and weekend shifts required
• 30-minute on-call callback response time required
• Floating between departments and/or local locations within 20 miles is required
• Epic EMR used; on-site training available for those without prior Epic experience

Requirements

• Active NM or Compact RN license required
• Current certifications required: BLS, ACLS, and PALS — all completed through AHA, American Health and Safety, or American Red Cross
• Minimum 2 years of current PACU experience required
• At least one prior 13-week travel nursing assignment required
• ADN or ASN degree required
• Must be a team player, flexible, and comfortable in a fast-paced environment
• English proficiency required (speak, read, write)

Additional Information

• Utilizes the nursing process to assess, plan, implement, evaluate, and document individualized patient care
• Coordinates care in collaboration with patients, families, and the interdisciplinary healthcare team
• Administers medications and treatments per physician orders or standard protocols
• Provides clinical supervision of LPNs and non-licensed assistive personnel
• Identifies patient and family education and discharge needs throughout the episode of care
• Must pass a Basic Cardiac Arrhythmia (BCA) test during the first week of the assignment — failure to pass will result in dismissal
• Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible; local candidates are not accepted
• Former permanent staff of this health system must wait one year before being considered as a traveler
