Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a PACU position at a Magnet-designated, Level II Trauma hospital in Alaska, requiring an active AK RN license and PACU experience.
Details
- Acute care hospital setting within a 407-bed Magnet-designated facility, recognized as a USNWR Best Hospital in Alaska
- Post-Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU) department
- Day shifts scheduled 3x12 hours with variable start/stop times (0700–1900, 0800–2000, 0900–2100, 1000–2200, or 1100–2300)
- 13-week contract
- On-call required: 1 on-call shift per month
- Weekend requirement: 1 weekend shift per month
- Charting performed in Epic (experience required)
- No floating within the facility required, though travelers may be expected to float between facilities within Alaska as needed
- Block scheduling is not available
- Scrubs are provided by the facility
- Free parking on-site
Requirements
- Active Alaska (AK) RN license required and must be in hand at time of offer
- Current BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications required
- Minimum 1 year of PACU experience required
- PACU Phase II experience required
- Pediatric PACU experience preferred
- Epic EMR experience required
- At least 2 supervisory references covering 1 year of employment within the last 3 years in a comparable specialty/setting
- SSN and date of birth required for consideration
- Candidate's permanent address must be at least 50 miles from the facility

- First-time travelers are welcome to apply
- Former permanent staff of this facility must wait at least 3 months before returning as a traveler and must reside more than 50 miles from the facility

- All requested time off (RTO) must be disclosed upfront — requests submitted after the offer may be denied
- Refusal to float between facilities within Alaska may result in assignment termination
