Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a CVICU position requiring fresh open heart surgical experience and night shift availability in a hospital setting.

Details

Work in the Cardiovascular ICU (CVICU) of an acute care hospital in Jersey City, NJ
Patient population includes fresh cardiac open heart surgical patients, CABG, TAVR, and valve replacement cases
Standard nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:2, adjustable to 1:3 based on acuity; fresh open heart patients require a 1:1 ratio
Night shift schedule: 3x12-hour shifts, 7:00 PM – 7:15 AM
Every other weekend required
Floating may be required to CCU, CTICU, ICU, and/or stepdown units
Charting via Epic EMR
13-week contract, 35.25 hours per week

Requirements

Active NJ or Compact RN license required
Current certifications required: BLS, ACLS, and Stroke CEUs
Fresh open heart surgical patient experience required
Experience with intra-aortic balloon pump (IABP), Impella, TAVR, and valve replacement required
Epic EMR experience required
SSN and DOB required for consideration
Two current professional references required

Additional Information

First-time travelers are welcome to apply
Local candidates are accepted
Royal blue scrubs required
Former RWJBH staff (full-time or PRN) must have been separated from the RWJBH health system for a minimum of 1 year before being eligible for a travel assignment
