Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Medical/Surgical position requiring Epic proficiency and a valid GA or compact RN license for a night shift contract.

Details

Medical/Surgical unit in a hospital setting with a 38-bed unit and an average daily census of 33
Patient population spans adolescents to geriatrics with general medical/surgical diagnoses and remote telemetry monitoring
Nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:6
Night shift schedule, 3x12-hour shifts (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM)
Every other weekend required
Floating within the facility and scope of practice as needed
No on-call requirements
Epic EMR experience required; Pyxis and SBAR also utilized

Requirements

Active GA or compact RN license required
Current BLS certification required
Minimum 1 year of Med/Surg RN experience required
Epic EMR proficiency required

Additional Information

First-time travelers are welcome to apply
Local candidates are accepted
Navy blue scrubs are required
RTO maximum of 7 days for the duration of the assignment; RTO cannot be requested during the first week
Spring Break (April 4–12) is a blackout period during which RTO will not be approved
Holiday coverage is required based on the number of major holidays falling within the assignment period: travelers must work all holidays if one or two occur, and at least two of three if three occur; major holidays include Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving/Black Friday, Christmas Eve/Christmas Day, and New Year's Eve/New Year's Day
No schedule change requests or alternate shift requests are permitted; the posted night shift is firm
Travelers must have been away from all facilities within this health system for a minimum of one full year before returning as a travel nurse
Two supervisory references (manager level or above; charge nurses not accepted) are strongly preferred for consideration
