Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced OR RN for a travel contract at a high-acuity Magnet teaching hospital, requiring a WA or compact RN license and at least 2 years of OR experience.
Details
- Hospital-based Operating Room in a high-acuity, academic Magnet teaching environment with 637 staffed beds and 28 OR rooms
- Patient population includes orthopedic sports (limited total joints), minimally invasive arthroscopic and laparoscopic cases, robotics, general surgery, GYN, urology, and plastics
- Experience with neuro, spine, thoracic, and vascular cases is a plus
- Average daily census of 50–75 patients
- Schedule is 4x10-hour day shifts, 6:45 AM–5:15 PM
- Weekend work required on an as-needed basis
- Call obligation is required; details to be discussed with manager during interview
- Floating within the hospital to other specialties during slow periods; no floating to sister hospitals
- Charting is performed in Epic (experience preferred but not required)
- Scrubs are provided for OR personnel in any color
Requirements
- Active WA or compact RN license currently in hand — pending licenses are not accepted
- Current BLS certification required
- Minimum 2 years of OR RN experience required
- At least 2 travel assignments (beyond initial hospital) required
- Teaching hospital and trauma hospital experience preferred
- COVID vaccination and booster required — no exceptions
Additional Information
- First-time travelers are welcome to apply
- Local candidates are accepted at the same rates with no radius restriction
- RTO is limited to a maximum of 1 week per contract; no RTO may be requested during orientation week
- Former UW staff must have been separated from the facility for at least 18 months before returning as a traveler
- Two professional references required for consideration
- 13-week minimum contract length; candidates interested in a longer contract should indicate their preference
