Description

American Traveler is hiring a travel RN for a Medical-Surgical position requiring at least 1 year of experience, Epic proficiency, and a GA or compact RN license.

Details

• General Med/Surg unit in a hospital setting
• Adult to geriatric patient population
• Patient ratio of 1:6
• Day shift, 4x12-hour shifts (7:00–19:30)
• Every other weekend required
• Floating within the facility and scope of practice as needed
• Uses Epic, Pyxis, and SBAR communication framework
• No alternate shift or schedule change requests permitted — posted shift is firm

Requirements

• Active GA or compact RN license required
• Current BLS certification required
• Minimum 1 year of Med/Surg RN experience required
• Epic experience required

Additional Information

• First-time travelers are welcome to apply
• Local candidates are accepted
• Navy blue scrubs required
• RTO maximum of 7 days; RTO cannot be requested during the first week of the assignment
• Holiday coverage is required: if 1 or 2 major holidays fall within the assignment period, the traveler is expected to work all of them with no holiday RTO permitted; if 3 major holidays fall within the assignment period, the traveler must work 2 and may request 1 holiday off for approval
• Major holidays include Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving/Black Friday (counts as 1), Christmas Eve/Christmas Day (counts as 1), and New Year's Eve/New Year's Day (counts as 1)
• Travelers must be away from all facilities within this health system for a full year before returning as a traveler
• Travel pairs will not be assigned to the same shift on the same unit
