Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Telemetry unit position in Illinois, requiring cardiac drip management skills and EKG/rhythm strip interpretation competency.

Details

• Hospital telemetry unit setting
• Patient population includes acute and chronic conditions, including chronic ventilator patients
• Nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:6
• Uses EKG monitoring equipment
• Charting via Epic EMR
• Night shift schedule: 3x12-hour shifts (6:45 PM – 7:15 AM)
• Every other weekend required
• Floating required

Requirements

• Active IL RN license currently in hand (pending licenses not accepted)
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications required
• Minimum 1 year of RN experience required
• Competency in rhythm strip and EKG interpretation required; must pass an EKG strip test at orientation
• Experience with chronic ventilator patients required
• Competency in initiating and maintaining cardiac drips (e.g., dobutamine, amiodarone, cardizem) preferred
• 2 professional references from a supervisor within the past 2 years required for consideration
• Full 7-year work history with all gaps explained required for consideration

Additional Information

• Responsibilities include assessing acute patient changes and providing care in a fast-paced telemetry environment
• Block scheduling is not available for this position
• RTO is limited to a maximum of 7 days for the contract; all time-off requests must be submitted upfront
