Description
American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Telemetry Step-Down position working nights with a minimum of 2 years of experience required.
Details
- Work in a 27-bed Telemetry Step-Down unit in a hospital setting
- Patient population includes adults and geriatrics
- Common diagnoses include COPD, GI bleeding, end-stage renal disease, cardiac dysrhythmias, and electrolyte imbalances requiring cardiac monitoring
- Unit also serves chronically ventilator-dependent patients and those receiving peritoneal dialysis
- Special procedures include peritoneal dialysis and bedside thoracentesis
- Equipment used includes Viking lift, sit-to-stand, EKG, Zoll, and VAC dressing
- Average census of 26 patients across 27 beds
- Night shift schedule: 3x12-hour shifts (20:00–08:30)
- Every other weekend required
- Holiday coverage required as scheduled
- Floating required within specialty sister units and to lower acuity units as needed
- No pre-scheduled on-call shifts required
Requirements
- Active RN license in Maryland (MD) or a Compact RN license currently in hand
- Current certifications required: BLS, ACLS, CPI, and NIHSS
- Minimum 2 years of telemetry step-down RN experience required
Additional Information
- Dark blue scrubs required
- First-time travelers are generally not considered; candidates with strong telemetry step-down skills and experience may be evaluated on a case-by-case basis
- Any time-off requests must be communicated at the time of initial consideration
