Description

American Traveler is hiring a travel RN for a Medical-Surgical position requiring at least 1 year of experience and Epic proficiency, with day shifts on a 4x12 schedule.

Details

• Medical-Surgical unit in a hospital setting, 38-bed unit with an average daily census of 33
• Patient population spans adolescents to geriatrics with general medical-surgical diagnoses
• Remote telemetry monitoring is a component of this unit
• Patient ratio of 1:6
• EMR: Epic (required); also uses Pyxis and SBAR
• Day shift, 4x12-hour shifts, 7:00 AM – 7:30 PM
• Every other weekend required
• Floating within the facility and scope of practice as needed
• No on-call requirements

Requirements

• Active GA or Compact RN license required
• Current BLS certification required
• Minimum 1 year of Med/Surg RN experience required
• Epic EMR proficiency required
• RTO must be submitted upfront and may not be requested during the first week of the assignment; maximum 7 days of RTO allowed
• Two supervisory references (Manager level or above; charge nurse references not accepted) are highly preferred

• First-time travelers are welcome to apply
• Local candidates are accepted
• Navy blue scrubs required
• Travelers must be available to work all major holidays that fall within their assignment period if one or two holidays occur; if three occur, travelers are expected to work two of them
• Major holidays include: Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving/Black Friday (counts as one), Christmas Eve/Christmas Day (counts as one), and New Year's Eve/New Year's Day (counts as one)
• RTO blackout period: Spring Break (April 4–12)
• No schedule change requests or alternate shift requests are permitted; the posted shift is firm
• Travelers must have been away from all facilities within this health system for a minimum of 1 full year before returning as a traveler
• Compliance with all onboarding requirements must be completed on time; delays may result in a 2-week start date pushback due to bi-weekly orientation scheduling
