Description
American Traveler is seeking an Echo Technologist / Cardiac Sonographer for a 13-week travel assignment at an acute care hospital, requiring 2+ years of experience and active ARDMS or CCI certification.
Details
- 286-bed acute care hospital setting
- Echocardiography / Cardiac Sonography unit
- Daily caseload of 8–12 studies per technologist
- Schedule options: M–F 4x10-hour shifts (6:00 AM–4:30 PM) or 3x12-hour shifts (6:00 AM–6:30 PM)
- On-call required: call rotation with staff from noon Sunday to 7:00 AM Monday
- Weekend rotation required: 8:00 AM–12:00 PM Saturday and Sunday (4 hours each day); when in weekend rotation, schedule shifts to 3x10s M–F plus 4 hours Saturday and 4 hours Sunday
- No floating between service lines or sister facilities
- Epic EMR (experience preferred)
Requirements
- Minimum of 2 years of Echo Technologist / Cardiac Sonographer experience
- Active BLS certification (AHA only)
- ARDMS (RDCS) or CCI (RCS or RCCS) certification required
- SC license required if applicable; candidates with a pending SC license may be considered but must be active prior to start
- Radiation badge required — must be provided by the candidate's agency prior to start
- SSN and Driver's License required for consideration
- 2 professional references from a supervisor within the past 2 years required for consideration
- First-time travelers are not accepted for this position
Additional Information
- Must be willing to train new hires as part of the role
- Candidates must reside more than 60 miles from the facility to qualify for travel rates; local candidates within 60 miles may be considered on a case-by-case basis and are given lower priority
- Former permanent or PRN staff at any MUSC location must have been separated from the system for at least 1 year before being eligible to work as a traveler
- All requested time off (RTO) must be disclosed at the time of submission; approval is based on facility needs
- Online orientation modules are completed prior to the start date
- Navy or seal blue scrubs required
- Free parking on-site
- Travelers should be aware that during hurricane season (June–November, with peak activity in August and September), all employees and contractors may be assigned to emergency response teams
