Description

American Traveler is hiring an Echo Technologist / Cardiac Sonographer with 2+ years of experience and ARDMS or CCI cardiac certification for a travel assignment in Springfield.

Details

• Inpatient echocardiography department setting
• Common patient population includes chest pain and CHF workups
• Daily caseload of 7–8 full case studies
• Uses Philips EPIQ ultrasound system
• Four 9-hour day shifts per week (Mon–Fri), 7:00 AM–4:30 PM, totaling 36 hours/week
• On-call required approximately 5–6 days per month; call hours are 4:30 PM–6:30 AM on weekdays and 6:00 AM–6:00 PM on weekends

Requirements

• Minimum of 2 years of experience as a Cardiac Sonographer
• ARDMS certification in Cardiac or CCI required
• BLS certification required
• Proficiency with Transthoracic Echocardiography (TTE), Transesophageal Echocardiography (TEE), and Cardiac Stress Testing
• Experience with Philips EPIQ system preferred
• Associate's degree in cardiovascular technology, ultrasonography, or related health science field preferred
• License required if applicable
• Proof of address, full SSN, DOB (MM/DD), copy of certifications, and 1 supervisory reference required for consideration

Additional Information

• Perform TTE, TEE, and Cardiac Stress Testing examinations following established protocols
• Administer imaging enhancement agents per department policy
• Utilize the hospital EMR to review patient information, enter preliminary reports, and document critical findings
• Prepare patients for procedures by explaining the process and providing instructions to minimize anxiety
• Pass/Fail EKG test administered on the first day; two attempts allowed and study guides will be provided
• Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to qualify for travel rates
