Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced ICU RN for a 13-week travel assignment requiring multi-unit flexibility across ICU, PCU, Med/Surg, and Peds, with a valid NM or compact RN license.

Details

• 13-week travel contract, 36 hours per week
• 12-hour night shifts, 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM
• 3 days per week, full-time (0.9 FTE)
• Hospital setting with flexibility required across ICU, PCU, Med/Surg, and Pediatrics departments
• Weekend shifts required on an as-needed basis
• On-call/call-back required on an as-needed basis
• Epic EMR used; prior experience preferred, on-site training available
• Floating required between departments and local locations within a 20-mile radius

Requirements

• Active NM state or compact RN license required
• Associate's Degree in Nursing (ADN or ASN) required
• Minimum 2 years of recent ICU experience required
• At least one prior 13-week travel assignment required
• Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS — all must be completed through the American Heart Association, American Health and Safety, or American Red Cross
• PALS certification required
• Must successfully pass an on-site Basic Cardiac Arrhythmia (BCA) test prior to starting the assignment
• English proficiency required (speaking, reading, and writing)
• Must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible for this position

Additional Information

• Utilizes the nursing process to assess, plan, implement, evaluate, and document individualized patient care
• Coordinates care through collaboration with patients, families, and the multidisciplinary healthcare team
• Administers medications and treatments per physician orders or standard protocols
• Provides clinical supervision of LPNs and non-licensed assistive personnel
• Identifies and addresses patient and family education and discharge planning needs throughout the episode of care
• The BCA test is administered on-site on the first day of orientation; candidates have one opportunity to re-test if they do not pass initially — a second failure will result in contract termination
• Former permanent staff of this health system must wait one year before being considered as a traveler
