Description

American Traveler is seeking an MRI Technologist with at least 1 year of experience and ARRT (MR) certification for a travel assignment covering both a hospital and outpatient imaging center.

Details

• Covers two MRI locations: one at the hospital and one at an outpatient imaging center
• Average daily caseload of 22 exams
• Equipment includes 1.5T GE closed MRI scanners
• EMR system is Epic; PACS system is Change Healthcare (GE)
• Schedule includes Wednesday 6:30 AM–5:00 PM (imaging lab) with Wednesday overnight call 7:00 PM–7:00 AM, Thursday 6:30 AM–5:00 PM (imaging lab), and Friday 6:30 AM–5:00 PM at the main facility
• Weekend call coverage required: Saturday 7:00 AM through Sunday 7:00 PM on rotating weekends
• Local candidates are accepted

Requirements

• Minimum 1 year of MRI experience in a hospital setting
• ARRT certification with advanced MRI (MR) registry required
• BLS (AHA) required prior to direct patient care
• GE MRI equipment experience required
• Epic EHR experience preferred
• PACS experience preferred
• Proof of address required for consideration (acceptable documents include a driver's license, voter registration card, federal tax return, military Form 2058, or W2 from the US government)
• Full SSN and date of birth (MM/DD) required for consideration
• 1 supervisory reference required for consideration
• Copy of certifications required for consideration
• License required if applicable

Additional Information

• Performs MRI scans according to established protocols under the direction of a radiologist or physician
• Applies MRI safety principles to minimize risk to patients, self, and others
• Starts IVs and administers magnetic contrast agents as part of standard procedure
• Assists in training new staff and provides oversight of MRI students
• Troubleshoots equipment malfunctions and reports issues to radiology maintenance or supervisor
• Pass/fail EKG test administered on the first day with two attempts allowed; study guides will be provided
• Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to qualify for travel pay rates
