Description

American Traveler is hiring a travel RN for an Adult ICU (AICU) day shift position in Indianapolis, IN, requiring a minimum of 2 years of ICU experience and active IN or compact RN license.

Details

• Adult Intensive Care Unit (AICU) in an inpatient hospital setting
• 30-bed unit managing patients with sepsis, respiratory failure, substance abuse disorders, endocrine disorders, and psychiatric disorders
• Patient ratios of 1:1, 1:2, or 1:3 depending on acuity
• Equipment used includes Alaris pumps, Arctic Sun, Prismax, and EV1000
• EMR: Epic (experience preferred)
• Day shift, 7:00 AM – 7:30 PM
• Every other weekend commitment (Friday/Saturday nights)
• No on-call requirements
• Floating to other inpatient areas required when the home unit is at low census

Requirements

• Active IN or compact RN license required
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications required
• Minimum 2 years of recent ICU experience required
• Strong comprehensive assessment skills required
• Experience caring for septic patients and mechanically ventilated patients with hemodynamic monitoring devices required
• CRRT experience preferred
• Epic EMR experience preferred
• No gaps in work history of 90 days or more within the past 12 months
• US Social Security Number (SSN) required

Additional Information

• Provides critical care nursing to a diverse adult ICU population including patients with respiratory failure, sepsis, and complex comorbidities
• EKG testing is required as part of the candidate evaluation process; candidates are allowed 2 attempts, and if unsuccessful, may reapply to Franciscan positions after 30 days
• Orientation consists of online modules on the first day, Epic training if needed, and one day of unit-specific orientation
• Navy scrubs required; hoodies and non-facility branded sweatshirts are not permitted
• Candidates living within 50 miles of the facility are eligible to apply but may be subject to a reduced travel pay rate
• 13-week contract
