Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced travel RN for a Progressive Care Unit (PCU) position at a Level I Trauma Center, requiring at least 2 years of RN experience and prior travel assignment completion.
Details
- Short-term acute care hospital setting at a Level I Trauma Center
- PCU unit functioning as Stepdown/Med Surg Overflow with cardiovascular experience
- Patient ratio of 1:6 under a team nursing model
- Night shift schedule, 7p–7a (3x12s), with potential for 36 or 48-hour work weeks
- Schedule details may be discussed and clarified during the interview process
- On-call required as needed
- Weekend work required as needed; weekend block scheduling may be considered
- Floating between like units and campuses within 20 miles may occur, though cross-campus floating is rare
- Cerner EMR experience preferred
Requirements
- Active RN license — TN state license or Compact (NLC) license required; no pending licensure accepted
- Minimum 2 years of RN experience required; 3+ years preferred
- ADN or higher required for this position
- Level I Trauma Center experience required
- Large hospital experience required
- Prior completed travel assignment required; first-time travelers are not eligible
- Cardiovascular nursing experience required
- Driver's License required for consideration
Additional Information
- Candidate must reside more than 100 miles from the facility to be eligible; local candidates are not accepted
- If Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Year's all fall within the assignment period, the traveler must be willing to work at least 2 of the 3 holidays; if only 2 holidays fall within the assignment, at least 1 must be covered
- All requested time off (RTO) must be submitted upfront; RTO requests will not be accepted after an offer has been made
- Former permanent employees or internal associate travelers must have been separated for at least one year before being eligible to return
- Vaccination status must be provided as part of the candidate profile
- Any certifications expiring during the assignment should have a documented renewal plan
