Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced oncology RN for a night shift Med/Surg Oncology position at a Level I Trauma Center, requiring a minimum of 2 years of experience and an active ONS/ONCC Chemotherapy & Immunotherapy certification.

• Short-term acute care hospital setting at a Level I Trauma Center
• Oncology Med/Surg unit serving oncology patients receiving chemotherapy and immunotherapy
• Team nursing model used on this unit — candidates unfamiliar with this model should be prepared to discuss it during the interview
• Night shift schedule: 4x12-hour shifts, 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM
• On-call required as needed
• Weekend shifts required as needed; weekend block scheduling may be considered
• Floating between like units and campuses within 20 miles may occur, though cross-campus floating is rare
• Cerner EMR experience preferred

Requirements

• Active RN license — TN state license or Compact (NLC) license required; no pending licensure accepted
• Current BLS certification required
• ONS/ONCC Chemotherapy & Immunotherapy Certificate/provider card required
• Minimum 2 years of recent Oncology Med/Surg RN experience required (3+ years preferred)
• Level I Trauma Center experience required
• Large hospital experience required
• At least one completed prior travel assignment required; first-time travelers are not eligible unless they have 3+ years of recent experience
• ADN or higher required for this position
• Driver's license required for consideration

Additional Information

• Candidates must reside more than 100 miles from the facility to be eligible — local candidates are not accepted
• All requested time off (RTO) must be submitted upfront; RTO requests made after an offer is extended will not be considered
• If the assignment spans end-of-year holidays, travelers must be willing to work at least 2 of 3 holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Year's) if all three fall within the assignment, or at least 1 if only 2 are included
• Former permanent employees or internal associate travelers must have been separated for at least one year before being eligible to return as a traveler
• Vaccination status must be included with candidate profile
