Description
American Traveler is hiring a travel RN for a Main Operating Room position in Springfield, MO, requiring at least 2 years of Level 1 or 2 trauma experience and both scrub and circulator experience.
Details
- Main OR setting within a Level 1 Trauma & Burn Center and Level 2 Stroke Center hospital
- OR suite includes Main OR (22 beds), ASC (8 beds), and Ortho OR (10 beds)
- Patient population ranges from outpatient to critical care inpatient
- 1:1 patient ratio
- Performs scrub and circulator roles, including interventional vascular and conscious sedation cases
- Assists with vascular surgeon cases in the OR and Hybrid Imaging suite; works Endo and Open cases alongside nurses and surgical techs
- Equipment includes various OR instruments and the da Vinci robotic surgical system
- EMR: Epic
- Day shift, 4x10 schedule, 06:30–17:00
- Weekends required as needed by the facility
- On-call required on any scheduled day, averaging 5 or fewer call shifts per 8 weeks
- Floating required as needed by the facility
- 13-week contract
Requirements
- Active MO RN license or compact RN license eligible for MO licensure required at time of consideration
- Current BLS certification from the American Heart Association (AHA) required
- Minimum 2 years of Level 1 or 2 trauma experience required (teaching hospital experience may be considered)
- Both scrub and OR circulator experience required
- Minimum 1 year of interventional vascular experience required
- Demonstrated competency in conscious sedation required
- Valid U.S. Social Security Number required (Canadian SINs not accepted)
- No gaps in employment of 90+ days within the past 12 months
- Must be able to stand and walk for the majority of the shift; ability to push, pull, and grip up to 50 lbs and pinch up to 15 lbs; occasional kneeling, crouching, and crawling required
Additional Information
- Flu vaccination (or Mercy-approved exemption) required for all travelers from November 1 through April 1; declinations are not accepted
- Candidates living within 50 miles of the facility are eligible but are subject to a reduced bill rate
- Candidates residing within 50 miles of the facility are limited to 3 consecutive 13-week contracts before requiring a 1-year separation or reassignment to a facility outside the 50-mile radius
- Up to 5 days of requested time off (RTO) is allowed but must be made up during the assignment
- Black scrubs required; jeans and unprofessional attire are not permitted
- Highly motivated, self-starter personality preferred
- Level 1 trauma experience with multiple years is preferred
