Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Med/Surg Telemetry position requiring a minimum of 2 years of experience, EKG rhythm interpretation skills, and comfort with a diverse patient population including gender affirmation surgery patients.

• Hospital-based Med/Surg Telemetry unit
• Telemetry monitoring is a core component of this role
• Patient population includes gender affirmation surgery patients; prior experience with this population is preferred but not required
• Patient ratio of 1:5 or 1:6
• Night shift schedule: 18:30–07:00 (4x12-hour shifts, 36 hours/week)
• Every other weekend requirement
• Holiday coverage required for 2 out of 3 winter holidays, as well as other holidays during the contract
• No on-call requirements
• Floating required within units of equivalent or lower acuity
• Cerner EMR used; experience preferred

Requirements

• Active RN license — Maryland (MD) or Compact license required
• Current certifications: BLS and NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS)
• Minimum 2 years of RN experience in a Med/Surg Telemetry setting
• Telemetry skills required
• Must successfully pass the Relias EKG Rhythm Interpretation Exam with a minimum overall score of 80% and a score of 100% on lethal rhythms
• Flu vaccine required
• 2 professional supervisory references from within the past 2 years required for consideration
• Candidates living within 60 miles of the facility are subject to a local pay rate

Additional Information

• Prior travel assignment experience preferred; first-time travelers with strong Cerner proficiency and excellent references will be considered
• Cerner documentation experience is strongly preferred
• Navy blue scrubs required; scrubs are not provided
• May come into contact with COVID-19 patients
• Full 7-year work history with all gaps explained is required for consideration
• All time-off and scheduling requests must be submitted at the time of initial application
