Description

American Traveler is hiring a travel RN for a Progressive Care Unit (PCU) position requiring 2+ years of PCU/Stepdown/Telemetry experience, an active MI RN license, and AHA certifications.

Details

• Night shift position, 7PM–7AM, 12-hour shifts, 3 days per week (36 hours/week)
• 13-week contract
• Progressive Care Unit (PCU) / Medical ICU stepdown environment
• Experience with medication drips is required in this role
• Block scheduling is not available; the facility will attempt to schedule consecutive shifts but cannot guarantee the same days each week
• Travelers may be required to float to a nearby sister hospital

Requirements

• Active Michigan (MI) RN license currently in hand
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications from the American Heart Association (AHA) required
• Minimum 2 years of recent experience as a PCU, Stepdown, or Telemetry RN
• Experience with medication/IV drips required
• Graduation from an accredited school of nursing required; BSN preferred
• Strong clinical knowledge and analytical abilities to formulate effective nursing care plans
• Effective communication skills with patients, families, and hospital personnel
• COVID vaccine required for employment at this facility

Additional Information

• Coordinates and delivers quality, compassionate patient care using the nursing process (assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation)
• Communicates pertinent patient and family information to the healthcare team and participates in resolving variances from patient goals
• Online orientation modules must be completed onsite with a passing score, typically one week prior to the assignment start
• Any time-off (RTO) requests submitted after an offer is made will need to be discussed with management once the assignment begins
