Description

American Traveler is hiring a Mammography Technologist with 2+ years of experience for an outpatient imaging role performing screening, diagnostic, and interventional mammography procedures.

Details

Outpatient mammography unit within an acute care community hospital
Procedures include screening and diagnostic mammography, bone density (DEXA), stereotactic and ultrasound-guided biopsies, magseed and wire localization placements, and post-clip placement exams
Daily caseload of 30–40 patients
Charting via Meditech (highly preferred)
5x8 hour day shifts, Monday–Friday, with variable start times: Mon & Fri 8:00 AM–4:30 PM, Tue–Thu 9:00 AM–5:30 PM
Rotating Saturday shifts approximately every 6th weekend
No on-call required
No floating required
Local candidates are welcome to apply

Requirements

Minimum 2 years of mammography technologist experience
Current BLS certification
ARRT (Mammography) certification required
IL license (IEMA) required if applicable
Pending licenses are not accepted
Comfort with post-clip placement exams required
Registered Breast Ultrasound (RBS) or Registered Breast Sonographer (RBS) certification preferred
DEXA experience is a plus

Additional Information

Techs will not be required to perform biopsies or localization exams
Meditech orientation/training may be included for candidates without prior Meditech experience
Black scrubs required for imaging staff
Free parking available in designated employee lots
First-time travelers will not be considered for this position
All RTO must be finalized and submitted prior to consideration; no RTO permitted during the first week of the assignment, and no more than 10 days of RTO per contract
Two professional supervisory references from within the past 2 years are required for consideration
A full 7-year work history with all gaps explained is required for consideration
