Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Labor & Delivery position requiring AWHONN Advanced certification and independent sterile vaginal exam proficiency.

Details

• Labor & Delivery unit at an acute care hospital with 320 staffed beds
• Patient ratio of 1:2
• Night shift schedule, 3x12-hour shifts (19:00–07:30)
• Floating required to Mother Baby unit and potentially between all facilities within the state
• Every other weekend required, with the possibility of additional weekends to meet unit needs
• No on-call requirements
• Epic EMR required
• Scrubs are provided for L&D staff
• Free parking available on-site

Requirements

• Active CA RN license required — pending licensure not accepted
• Certifications required: BLS, ACLS, NRP, and AWHONN Advanced Fetal Monitoring (hard stop — must have a passing certificate)
• Minimum 1.5 years of L&D experience required; 2 years preferred
• Must be able to independently perform sterile vaginal exams and triage without supervision — this is a hard stop requirement
• Epic EMR experience required
• At least 2 supervisory references covering 1 year of employment within the last 3 years in a comparable specialty/setting required for consideration
• SSN and DOB required for consideration

• First-time travelers are welcome to apply
• All requested time off (RTO) must be submitted at the time of initial consideration; post-offer RTO requests may be denied
• Scheduling preference requests related to secondary employment will not be accommodated
• Former permanent staff must wait at least 3 months before returning as a traveler and must not reside within 50 miles of the facility
• Candidates residing within 50 miles of the facility are subject to a local pay rate
• Refusal to float may result in assignment termination
