Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a PCU/Stepdown Neuro position requiring ACLS and NIHSS certifications for a 13-week night shift contract in Youngstown, OH.

Details

• PCU/Stepdown unit (8SE) in an acute care hospital setting, Youngstown, OH
• Intermediate Stroke/Pediatrics unit with 32 beds; pediatric beds are not assigned to travelers
• Neurological and stroke patient population including adults (18–64) and geriatrics (65+)
• Intermediate level care including management of cardiac drips
• Typical nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:4
• 12-hour night shifts
• 13-week contract
• Epic EHR — training preferred

Requirements

• Active OH or compact RN license currently in hand
• Current BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required
• Minimum 1 year of RN experience required
• Neuro/stroke experience preferred
• Proof of address required for consideration (acceptable documents: Driver's License, Voter Registration card, Federal Income Tax return, Military Form No. 2058, or W2 from the US government)
• 1 supervisory reference required for consideration
• Full SSN and DOB required for consideration
• Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible for travel rates

Additional Information

• Pass/fail EKG exam required on the first day; two attempts are allowed and a study guide will be provided
• Dysrhythmia exam required prior to starting
• Responsibilities include comprehensive patient assessment, care planning, medication administration, hemodynamic monitoring, chest tube management, and care coordination across hospital departments
• Clinically manages patients with multi-system organ failure and/or multisystem trauma
• Administers conscious sedation and utilizes advanced respiratory modalities
