Description

American Traveler is hiring a travel RN for a Labor & Delivery position at an acute care hospital, requiring at least 2 years of L&D experience and prior travel nursing experience.

Details

Acute care hospital Labor & Delivery unit
Unit includes 12 labor beds, 5 antepartum beds, 2 ORs, and a 6-bed OB emergency room
Delivers 150–200 births per month, with a patient population ranging from routine to high-risk OB, including antepartum patients
Staffing ratios follow AWHONN guidelines
Fetal heart monitoring (FHM) system: OB Trace
EMR: MEDITECH (experience required)
12-hour night shifts, with start times at 6:45 PM
Every other weekend required
No on-call requirement
Floating to postpartum as needed
Holidays rotate with permanent staff

Requirements

Active RN license in Georgia (GA) or a Compact RN license currently in hand
Current certifications required: BLS, ACLS, NRP, and Intermediate or higher Electronic Fetal Monitoring (EFM)
Minimum 2 years of experience in Labor & Delivery required
Prior travel nursing experience required
Valid driver's license required for consideration

Additional Information

Procedures performed on-unit include C-sections, cerclages, and tubal ligations; OR techs scrub for C-sections and attend vaginal deliveries
Neonatology and OB hospitalist coverage available in-house 24/7
Respiratory therapy and pharmacy support available 24/7
Charge nurses are generally outside the staffing grid
Hospital-provided scrubs
Baby-friendly hospital with in-house lactation support
2-shift floor-specific orientation provided
First-time travelers will not be considered for this position
Candidates must reside more than 72 miles from the facility to be eligible
Candidates who have been employed by this facility within the last 12 months are not eligible
