Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Med/Surg (Acute Care) night shift position requiring a minimum of 2 years of specialty experience and a GA or compact RN license.

Details

• Acute care Med/Surg unit in a hospital setting
• 44-bed unit with a staff of 40
• Patient ratios of 1:5, possibly 1:6 on both days and nights
• CNA support is available with a ratio of approximately 1:8–1:10
• Telemetry patients are present but monitored on a separate unit
• MEDITECH EMR used; experience preferred but not required
• Night shift, 12-hour shifts (6:45 PM – 7:15 AM), four shifts per week
• Every other weekend requirement
• Holiday coverage required as needed
• Floating required to all acute care, cardiology (medical patients), and EC for acute care patient holds
• 17-week contract

Requirements

• Active GA or compact RN license required
• Current BLS and NIHSS certifications required (both must be AHA-issued)
• Minimum 2 years of Med/Surg or acute care RN experience required
• Driver's license required for consideration
• Must reside more than 75 miles from the facility to be eligible for placement

Additional Information

• Orientation consists of approximately 1 week of general orientation (including EMR training) followed by 2 days of floor-specific orientation
• Caribbean blue scrubs required
• Candidates who have been employed by the facility within the last 12 months are not eligible for placement
• Any requested time off must be disclosed and confirmed at the start of the assignment
