Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Surgical ICU (SICU) position at a Level 1 Trauma teaching hospital, requiring an active DC RN license and a minimum of 2 years of ICU experience.
Details
- Work in the Surgical ICU (SICU) of an acute care, Level 1 Trauma, Magnet teaching hospital with 228 staffed beds
- Patient ratio of 1:2
- 13-week contract
- Night shift schedule: 4x12-hour shifts, 7:30 PM – 8:00 AM
- Every other weekend required
- Floating within scope required to meet facility needs
- Charting system: Cerner Sorian (1st Generation)
- No on-call required
Requirements
- Active DC RN license currently in hand — pending licenses will not be accepted
- Current certifications required: BLS, ACLS, and NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS)
- Minimum 2 years of SICU or ICU experience required (4 years preferred)
- Valid driver's license and Social Security card required for consideration
Additional Information
- First-time travelers are welcome to apply
- Local candidates are accepted
- Every other holiday coverage required
- Royal blue scrubs required
- RTO requests are limited to 1 for the duration of the contract
- Parking is available on-site (daily, weekly, or monthly rates) or via street meters; cost is the clinician's responsibility
- The facility is accessible via Washington, DC Metro (Shaw/Howard University stop on the Green and Yellow lines) and multiple bus routes
