Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Surgical ICU (SICU) position at a Level 1 Trauma teaching hospital, requiring an active DC RN license and a minimum of 2 years of ICU experience.

Details

Work in the Surgical ICU (SICU) of an acute care, Level 1 Trauma, Magnet teaching hospital with 228 staffed beds
Patient ratio of 1:2
13-week contract
Night shift schedule: 4x12-hour shifts, 7:30 PM – 8:00 AM
Every other weekend required
Floating within scope required to meet facility needs
Charting system: Cerner Sorian (1st Generation)
No on-call required

Requirements

Active DC RN license currently in hand — pending licenses will not be accepted
Current certifications required: BLS, ACLS, and NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS)
Minimum 2 years of SICU or ICU experience required (4 years preferred)
Valid driver's license and Social Security card required for consideration

Additional Information

First-time travelers are welcome to apply
Local candidates are accepted
Every other holiday coverage required
Royal blue scrubs required
RTO requests are limited to 1 for the duration of the contract
Parking is available on-site (daily, weekly, or monthly rates) or via street meters; cost is the clinician's responsibility
The facility is accessible via Washington, DC Metro (Shaw/Howard University stop on the Green and Yellow lines) and multiple bus routes
