Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Family Birthing Center (Labor & Delivery) night shift position in Salida, CO, requiring a minimum of 2 years of LDRP experience and an active CO or compact RN license.

Details

• Family Birthing Center (LDRP) unit within a hospital setting
• Night shift schedule: 6:00 PM – 6:00 AM, 36 hours per week
• Weekend shifts are required; holiday coverage may be required
• Cares for labor, delivery, recovery, and postpartum (LDRP) patients, including mother/baby couplets and neonates

Requirements

• Active CO RN license or a compact RN license accepted
• Minimum 2 years of LDRP experience required
• Associate's Degree in Nursing (ADN) from an accredited program required
• Required certifications: BLS/BCLS and ACLS
• PALS and NRP preferred
• Ability to frequently lift and/or move up to 50 lbs
• Must be able to stand, reach, stoop, kneel, crouch, and perform fine motor tasks for extended periods
• Color, close, and peripheral vision required to monitor patients and equipment

Additional Information

• Provides direct patient care across labor, delivery, and postpartum phases, including breastfeeding support and newborn care education
• Collaborates with nursery nurses on mother/baby couplet care and assists physicians with procedures
• Documents all care and education in the electronic medical record
• Communicates patient status verbally and in writing to physicians and nursing supervisors
• Assists with emergencies in other nursing units as needed
• Set in Salida, CO — a scenic mountain community
