Description

American Traveler is hiring a travel RN for an Operating Room position at a Level III Trauma Center, requiring prior OR circulating experience and Epic proficiency.

Details

• Work setting is a short-term acute care Level III Trauma Center with 104 staffed beds
• Assignment is in the Operating Room with a 1:1 patient ratio
• Primary surgical services include General, Ortho, Neuro, GYN, OB (C-sections), ENT, Plastics, Vascular, and Ophthalmology
• 8-hour variable shifts scheduled as either 7:00–15:30 or 11:30–19:30
• On-call is required: 1 weeknight per week and 1 weekend every 6 weeks; callback response time is 20 minutes
• Weekends are required for on-call coverage only
• No floating between units within this facility; however, travelers may be expected to float between facilities within Washington State
• Charting is performed in Epic (experience required)
• Scrubs: any color accepted

Requirements

• Active WA RN license or compact RN license currently in hand
• Current BLS certification required
• Minimum 2 years of OR circulating experience required
• OR charge nurse experience preferred
• Epic EMR proficiency required
• Must be able to respond within 20 minutes when on call
• Minimum of 2 supervisory references covering 1 year of employment within the last 3 years in a comparable specialty or setting
• SSN and date of birth required for consideration

Additional Information

• Circulate in a high-volume OR across multiple surgical specialties including general, orthopedic, neuro, gynecologic, obstetric, ENT, plastic, vascular, and ophthalmic procedures
• OR charge experience is preferred, suggesting involvement in team coordination and leadership responsibilities
• First-time travelers are not accepted for this position
• Former permanent staff must wait at least 3 months before returning as a traveler and must not reside within 50 miles of the facility
• Minimal RTO is strongly preferred; all time-off requests must be disclosed prior to submission, as post-offer RTO requests may be denied
• No parking fees at this facility
