Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Telemetry unit position requiring Epic proficiency and a minimum of 2 years of telemetry experience.

Details

• Telemetry unit in a hospital setting
• Adult to geriatric patient population with diagnoses including CHF, MI/chest pain (pre- and post-cath), dysrhythmias (pre- and post-device implants), hypo-/hypertension, pleural effusion, sepsis, and PE/DVT/vascular issues
• Patient ratio of 1:4-5 across a 16-room unit
• EMR: Epic (required); also uses Pyxis and SBAR
• Day shift, 3x12-hour shifts (7:00–19:00)
• Every other weekend required
• Floating within the facility and scope of practice as needed
• No on-call requirements

Requirements

• Active GA or compact RN license required
• Current certifications required: BLS, ACLS, and NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS)
• Minimum 2 years of telemetry nursing experience required
• Epic EMR experience required
• Copies of all required certifications must be provided for consideration
• Two supervisory references (manager level or above; charge nurse references not accepted) are highly preferred for consideration

• Navy blue scrubs required
• RTO maximum of 7 days per assignment; RTO cannot be requested during the first week of the assignment
• RTO blackout dates apply during Spring Break (April 4–12)
• Holiday coverage policy: travelers are expected to work all major holidays that fall within their assignment period if one or two occur; if three major holidays fall within the assignment period, travelers must be available for two of them
• Major holidays include Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving/Black Friday, Christmas Eve/Christmas Day, and New Year's Eve/New Year's Day
• Travelers must be away from all facilities within this health system for a minimum of one full year before returning as a traveler
• No special scheduling requests or alternate shift requests are permitted — the posted day shift schedule is firm
• A clinical pre-screen is required; candidates will be reviewed for clinical fit before being forwarded to the hiring manager
• Full compliance must be completed on time; delays may result in a two-week pushback due to a bi-weekly orientation schedule
