Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a CVOR Scrub and Circulate position requiring 3–5 years of complex cardiac, thoracic, and vascular OR experience with the ability to both scrub and circulate.

Details

• Hospital-based Cardiovascular Operating Room (CVOR) setting
• Primarily scrubbing, with circulating responsibilities also required
• Complex cardiac, thoracic, and vascular cases including coronary artery bypass (primary and redo), aortic aneurysms, AVR and MVR (primary and redo), TAVR, ECMO, VADs, and more
• Adult patient population required; pediatric experience is a plus
• Active research protocols are ongoing in the department
• Day shift: 6:00 AM – 7:30 PM, 8-hour shifts
• 40 hours per week
• On-call is required
• Approximately 1 weekend per month
• 13-week contract

Requirements

• Active Virginia (VA) or Compact RN license required
• BLS certification required — must be AHA-issued
• CNOR certification preferred
• 3–5 years of recent scrub and circulating RN experience in complex cardiac, thoracic, and vascular cases required
• Strong critical thinking and multitasking abilities required
• Excellent communication skills and ability to function as a team player

Additional Information

• Candidate will primarily scrub but must be fully competent in both scrubbing and circulating
• Participation in department research protocols is expected
• Holiday coverage is required: one summer holiday (Memorial Day, 4th of July, or Labor Day) and one winter holiday (Thanksgiving or Christmas) per department need
• Any requested time off must be added to the end of the contract to ensure a full 13 working weeks are completed
• Overtime may be required
