Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a PCU/Stepdown night shift position at a major academic medical center in Ohio, requiring 2 years of progressive care experience and an OH or compact RN license.

Details

• Work on a 32-bed Mixed Acuity Stepdown/PCU unit with an average daily census of 25–32 patients
• Patient population includes mixed medical diagnoses as well as pre- and post-surgical patients requiring PCU-level care
• Night shift: 7:00 PM – 7:30 AM (3x12-hour shifts)
• 36 hours per week with every other weekend required
• Floating within the health system organization is required
• On-call responsibilities are required

Requirements

• Active OH RN license or compact RN license currently in hand
• Current BLS, ACLS, and NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certifications required
• Minimum 2 years of recent progressive care (PCU/Stepdown) experience required
• Experience with similar PCU/Stepdown patient populations required
• Preferred skills include telemetry monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation and management, rapid response/code team participation, IV therapy, blood product administration, central line and PICC care, heparin protocols, respiratory support, wound care, and pre/post-surgical patient care
