Description

American Traveler is hiring a Pediatric Ultrasound Technologist with 2+ years of dedicated pediatric ultrasound experience for a 13-week assignment at a Magnet-designated, Level 1 Trauma teaching hospital.

Details

  • Pediatric hospital setting specializing in pediatric and neonatal ultrasound imaging
  • 4x10-hour day shifts, Monday through Thursday, 9:30 AM – 8:00 PM, with potential flexibility to work additional days as needed
  • No on-call requirement
  • Daily caseload varies
  • Procedures include NEC, TCD, spinal ultrasound, liver Doppler (all vessels), renal Doppler, renal transplants, extremity venous Doppler, intussusception, pyloric stenosis, appendix imaging, and neonatal head imaging
  • Liver transplant experience is preferred
  • Charting performed in Epic
  • No floating to other campus buildings required — position is entirely in-house

Requirements

  • Minimum of 2–3 years of experience in dedicated pediatric ultrasound
  • Pediatric hospital experience required
  • Experience with NEC, TCD, spinal, liver Doppler (all vessels), renal Doppler, renal transplants, extremity venous Doppler, intussusception, pyloric stenosis, appendix, and neonatal head imaging required
  • Current BLS (AHA) and ARDMS or ARRT certification required
  • SC state ultrasound licensure is not required; license required if applicable
  • Graduate of an accredited school of Diagnostic Medical Sonography required
  • SSN and Driver's License required for consideration
  • 2 professional references from a supervisor within the past 2 years required for consideration

Additional Information

  • First-time travelers are accepted for this position
  • Previous permanent or PRN staff at any MUSC location must have been separated from the system for at least 1 year before being eligible to work as a traveler
  • Candidates living within 60 miles of the facility are considered local; non-local candidates are prioritized
  • All requested time off (RTO) must be disclosed at the time of consideration; requests of 7 days or fewer of non-holiday RTO are generally approved, while requests exceeding 7 days or including holidays are subject to facility approval
  • Orientation modules are completed prior to the assignment start date
  • Scrub colors are teal tops and black bottoms
  • Parking is free on weekdays; a one-time $20 fee applies for a nights and weekends parking pass
  • Travelers should be aware that during hurricane season (June–November), all employees and contractors may be assigned to emergency response teams; peak activity occurs in August and September
