Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced NICU RN for a Level III NICU position in Ohio, requiring NRP certification and proficiency in neonatal respiratory and cardiovascular management.

Details

  • Level III NICU in a hospital setting
  • Cares for neonates from 22 weeks gestation and above, including those under 24-28 weeks
  • Patient population includes neonates with respiratory distress, glucose management issues, cardiovascular conditions, gastrointestinal conditions, infectious diseases, and those requiring surgical or cardiac interventions
  • Pyxis medication dispensing system used for IV vasopressors, surfactants, and steroids
  • Epic EMR (Nationwide Children's instance) used for documentation
  • Night shift, 3x12-hour shifts (19:00–07:30)

Requirements

  • Active OH RN license or compact RN license currently in hand
  • Current BLS and NRP certifications required
  • Experience in Level III and/or Level IV NICU settings required
  • Proficiency in ventilator management (AC/PC/SIMV/CPAP/BIPAP/PEEP)
  • Competency in cardiovascular dysrhythmia interpretation and management
  • Experience with arterial line management, central line care, and umbilical artery/vein catheter management
  • Proficiency in gastrointestinal feeding methods and oral/nasogastric/nasojejunal tube management
  • Experience with infection control measures and IV therapy
  • Neonatal abstinence syndrome intervention experience
  • Two professional supervisor references from within the past 2 years required for consideration
  • Full 7-year work history with all gaps explained required for consideration

Additional Information

  • Provides specialized neonatal care including respiratory management, cardiovascular monitoring, medication administration, and infection control
  • Implements SBAR communication method when interacting with healthcare providers and families
  • Multidisciplinary team includes NPs, pharmacy, physical therapy, radiology, respiratory services, social services, interpretation services, and unit secretaries
  • Candidates with prior experience at Nationwide Children's Hospital may receive preferential consideration
  • No required break between assignments when changing representation at this facility (except for Sterile Processing Techs, who require a 30-day break)
  • All time-off and scheduling requests must be submitted at the time of initial consideration
