Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Surgical ICU (SICU) position at a Level I Trauma, Magnet-designated acute care hospital in Illinois, requiring an active IL RN license and prior ICU experience.

Details

• Work setting is a 562-bed, Level I Trauma Center and Magnet-designated acute care hospital
• Assignment is in the Surgical ICU (SICU) department
• Patient ratios can reach 1:3
• Schedule is nights, 3x12-hour shifts (18:45–07:15)
• Every other weekend is required
• Floating is required for all travelers, primarily to other ICUs or affiliate hospitals nearby
• Charting is done in Cerner
• Local candidates are accepted with no radius requirement
• 13-week contract

Requirements

• Active Illinois (IL) RN license required and must be in hand at time of consideration
• Current BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required (AHA or Red Cross accepted; RQI AHA cards are not accepted)
• Minimum 1 year of ICU experience required
• SSN and DOB required for consideration
• 2 professional supervisory references from within the past 2 years required

Additional Information

• First-time travelers are not accepted for this position
• Any permanent or PRN employee of the Memorial Hospital System must have been separated for at least 12 months before being eligible to apply as a traveler
• Travel pairs are not accepted
• Candidates must work 2 out of 3 major holidays
• RTO of 5 days or fewer is ideal; requests exceeding 5 days require facility approval
• Scrubs may be any solid color
• Free parking is available on-site with a permit obtained during orientation
