Description

American Traveler is hiring a travel RN for an ICU position at a Level 1 Trauma Center in Chicago, IL, requiring a minimum of 2 years of ICU experience and an active IL RN license.

Details

• Position is based in the ICU of a Level 1 Trauma Center
• This is a mandatory float facility — ICU RNs are required to float between multiple ICU units including Burn ICU, CCU, Medical ICU, SICU, and Neuro ICU, and may also be asked to float to med/surg units to support staffing needs
• Floating to other Cook County facilities may be required, up to 50 miles away, with as little as 2 hours notice before shift start
• Shift: 3x12-hour shifts, 11:00 AM–11:30 PM (day/evening)
• No block scheduling or special scheduling requests permitted
• Every other weekend required (2 weekends per month)
• No on-call requirements
• Charting system: Cerner
• 13-week contract

Requirements

• Active Illinois (IL) RN license required — no pending licensure accepted
• Current certifications required: BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS
• Minimum 2 years of recent acute care ICU experience required
• Proof of COVID vaccination required — no exceptions

Additional Information

• Orientation and first precepting shift will be scheduled on day shift
• Scrubs: any color; scrubs are not provided by the facility
• RTO is limited to a maximum of 5 days per contract, with no more than 2 consecutive days at a time
• RTO on weekends will not be approved
• No RTO on holidays or the day immediately before or after a holiday
• Local candidates are accepted and preferred; candidates must reside within 75 miles of the facility
