Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Med/Surg Telemetry position requiring Epic proficiency and a minimum of 2 years of RN experience, with no first-time travelers considered.

Details

• Inpatient Med/Surg Telemetry unit within an acute care hospital setting
• Specialized care for patients with rehabilitation needs including CVA, TBI, ABI, spinal cord injury, neurological diagnoses, generalized debility, and post-op surgical cases (e.g., post-stroke, aneurysm)
• Patient ratio of 1:6
• Night shift schedule: 3x12-hour shifts, 7:00 PM – 7:30 AM
• Every 3rd weekend required; holiday coverage as needed
• Floating required — travelers may be assigned to any campus within the health system as needed
• Epic EMR experience required
• Skills include cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia/EKG interpretation, medication reconciliation, laboratory result interpretation, specimen collection (capillary, throat, urine UA), phlebotomy, dressing changes, and aseptic/sterile procedure setup

Requirements

• Active NC or compact RN license currently in hand
• BLS certification required
• Minimum 2 years of RN experience required
• Epic EMR experience is mandatory
• Prior travel nursing experience required — first-time travelers will not be considered
• Ability to interpret dysrhythmias and EKGs
• Acute care rehab experience preferred
• Teaching hospital experience preferred
• Trauma Level II experience preferred
• Must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible for this position
• A valid driver's license is required for consideration
• 2 professional references from a supervisor within the past 2 years required for consideration

Additional Information

• All RNs, regardless of specialty, must pass a Pass/Fail EKG exam during compliance — two attempts are allowed, and no study materials will be provided by the facility, so candidates should prepare in advance
• Orientation includes non-billable unit-based modules averaging 2–4 hours
• The facility has a zero-tolerance policy for tardiness and unexcused absences
• Education verification through a third-party provider is required; degrees from schools on the Diploma Fraud Florida Education Audit list will not be accepted
• Background checks must have no open cases
