Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Med/Surg travel position in Petoskey, MI, requiring 2+ years of Med/Surg experience and an active Michigan RN license.

Details

• 28-bed Medical Surgical Unit serving a diverse patient population including general surgery, vascular surgery, bariatric surgery, plastic surgery, trauma, and stroke patients
• Fast-paced unit environment with a focus on patient safety and evidence-based, holistic care
• 13-week contract with 12-hour day shifts
• 36 hours per week
• Every other weekend required
• No on-call responsibilities

Requirements

• Active Michigan RN license required
• Current BLS certification (AHA) required
• Minimum 2 years of Med/Surg (MS) experience required
• Travel nursing experience preferred
• Skills checklist completed within the past year required for consideration
• Current full-time employees of McLaren are not eligible for contract hire within 6 months of employment

• Collaborates with an interdisciplinary care team to develop, implement, and evaluate individualized patient care plans
• Utilizes clinical pathways, patient education, and SBAR communication to support positive patient outcomes
• Active Unit Based Council (Shared Governance) promotes a collaborative, team-oriented work environment
• New team members receive orientation support as they integrate into the unit
• A strict 3-strike attendance policy is in place — any RN absent from a scheduled shift or more than 20 minutes late 3 times will be subject to immediate termination; exceptions may be considered for documented communicable illness or hospitalization
• Candidates with a permanent address within 35 miles of the facility are considered local travelers and may be subject to a reduced travel pay rate
• Non-smoking (nicotine-free) facility
• No more than 5 days of RTO may be requested during the contract
