Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced OR RN for a 13-week travel contract requiring a CA RN license and a minimum of 3 years of nursing experience with specialized surgical skills across multiple service lines.

Details

• Work setting is a hospital Operating Room department
• Surgical specialties include General, Orthopedic, Vascular, Trauma, and Neuro cases
• Evening shift: 5x8-hour shifts, 3:00 PM – 11:30 PM
• On-call required as needed
• Every other weekend required

Requirements

• Active CA RN license required
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications required
• Minimum 3 years of nursing experience required
• Minimum 1 year of travel nursing experience required
• Ability to scrub and circulate surgical cases
• Ability to assist with lifting, supporting, maneuvering, and repositioning patients weighing over 200 lbs
• Ability to make fine discrimination in sound
• Ability to work with bodily fluids and substances
• 2 supervisor references from within the past two years required for consideration

Additional Information

• Plans, manages, and coordinates professional nursing care for surgical patients across multiple service lines
• Scrubs and/or circulates surgical cases in accordance with AORN standards of professional nursing practice
• Directs and supervises ancillary nursing personnel and collaborates with the full health care team
• Involves contact with patients under a wide variety of circumstances, including emergency and crisis situations (OSHA Risk Category I – High Risk)
• Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to qualify for travel pay rates
• Former employees of this health system must have been separated for at least 1 year before returning as a traveler
• Only one holiday RTO request will be approved during the contract
