Description
American Traveler is seeking a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) with 2+ years of acute care hospital experience for a day shift PICU position at a large regional hospital in Fort Pierce, FL.
Details
- Work in the Respiratory Therapy unit of a 437-bed regional hospital
- PICU patient population with cases including respiratory insufficiency, asthma, pneumonia, and emphysema
- Approximately 44–46 procedures performed per shift
- Equipment used includes Servo I ventilators, Hamilton ventilators, V60, Astral, CPAP and BiPAP machines, nebulizers, ABGs, and CPT
- EMR system is Meditech; prior Meditech experience is preferred
- Day shift: 7:00 AM – 7:00 PM
- 13-week contract
Requirements
- Active RRT license and certification required (license required if applicable)
- Minimum 2 years of current acute care hospital RRT experience
- Must have active experience in the specialty within the last 6 months
- BLS and ACLS required (AHA or ARC accepted); certifications must not expire within the first 30 days of the assignment start
- PALS required for PICU placement
- Trauma experience preferred
- US SSN and date of birth required for consideration
- Two professional references required (Florida requirement)
- No employment gaps of 90 days or more in the past 12 months
Additional Information
- Provide respiratory therapy treatment, care, and evaluation for patients with respiratory insufficiencies including asthma, pneumonia, and emphysema
- Team structure includes a director, manager, supervisors, and 8–10 RRTs per shift
- Ideal candidate is a team player, critical thinker, and thrives in a fast-paced environment with a collaborative physician relationship model
- Light grey scrubs required
- Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility; no local candidates will be considered
- The facility is Joint Commission accredited and a designated Certified Primary Stroke Center
