Description
American Traveler is seeking a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) with 2+ years of acute care experience for a day shift NICU/PICU position at a Level 1 adult and pediatric trauma center in Miami, FL.
Details
- NICU/PICU Respiratory Therapy unit within a 447-bed tertiary care and teaching facility
- Level 1 adult and pediatric trauma center, Level 3 NICU, and Certified Comprehensive Stroke Center
- Equipment used includes high flow devices, 3100A oscillators, Bunnell ventilators, Servo ventilators, continuous nebulizers, Nitric Oxide, Heliox, and standard nebulizers
- Documentation system: Meditech (experience preferred)
- Day shift, 7:00 AM – 7:00 PM
- May float to adult floors to provide nebulizer therapy, BiPAP, CPT, and similar treatments
- 13-week contract
Requirements
- Active RRT license and certification required (license required if applicable)
- Minimum 2 years of current acute care hospital RRT experience
- Current NICU/PICU experience strongly preferred
- Active experience within the last 6 months in the role
- Certifications required: BLS, NRP, PALS, and ACLS (AHA or ARC accepted; no certifications expiring within the first 30 days of the assignment start)
- US SSN and DOB required for consideration — no exceptions
- Two professional references required
- No gaps in work history of 90 days or more within the past 12 months
- Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility — no local candidates accepted
Additional Information
- Provide respiratory treatment, care, and evaluation for neonatal and pediatric patients with respiratory conditions using advanced technologies and medication delivery
- Department is structured with a Director, Manager, and one Supervisor/Charge Therapist per shift alongside regular staff
- Multidisciplinary, collaborative approach to patient care is expected
- Ideal candidates are team players with strong critical thinking skills, a patient-focused mindset, and adaptability in a fast-paced environment
- Required scrub color: Light Gray (Silver)
