Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced travel RN for a Med/Surg Telemetry position at a Level I Trauma Center, requiring at least 2 years of experience and prior travel experience.

Details

• Short-term acute care hospital setting at a Level I Trauma Center
• Med/Surg Telemetry unit
• Team nursing model with a ratio of 1:12, split among 2 RNs, an LPN, a med nurse, and a virtual nurse
• Day shift, 7:00 AM – 7:00 PM, 3x12-hour shifts per week (36 or 48 hours per week)
• On-call required as needed
• Weekend shifts required as needed
• Floating between like units and campuses within 20 miles may occur, though cross-campus floating is rare
• Cerner EMR experience preferred
• 13-week contract

Requirements

• Active RN license — TN state license or Compact (NLC) license required; no pending licensure accepted
• Minimum 2 years of Med/Surg Telemetry RN experience required (3+ years preferred)
• Level I Trauma Center experience required
• Large hospital experience required
• At least one completed prior travel assignment required; first-time travelers are not eligible
• ADN or higher required for this position
• Valid Driver's License required for consideration
• Current BLS certification required

Additional Information

• Candidates must reside more than 100 miles from the facility to be eligible; local candidates are not accepted
• All requested time off (RTO) must be submitted at the time of initial consideration — RTO requests submitted after an offer is made will not be honored
• If Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Year's fall within the assignment period, the traveler must be willing to work at least 2 of the 3 holidays; if only 2 holidays fall within the assignment, at least 1 must be covered
• Former permanent employees or internal associate travelers must have been separated for at least one year before being eligible to return as a traveler
• Weekend block scheduling may be considered, but standard block scheduling is not available
• Vaccination status will be required as part of the consideration process
